Selection Criteria

The ‘Lebanese Leaders in Gulf Companies’ list aims to spotlight Lebanese professionals who have not only assumed executive roles in major Gulf companies but have also contributed to transforming these organizations and making a significant impact in their respective sectors. This has been achieved through strategic leadership, outstanding operational performance, and a sustainable institutional legacy.

Criteria adopted in the selection process

Manhom’s editorial team based their selection on several key criteria. These include the duration the leader has spent working in Arab companies, with a focus on those who built their careers entirely or partially in the Gulf. Particular attention was given to the number of years spent in senior executive roles (such as CEO, COO, CFO, etc.), which reflect the leader’s continuity, success, and influence on strategic decisions and organizational transformation.

The team also evaluated the current or most recent position held by the leader, assessing its significance, the scope of responsibilities and authority involved, as well as the company’s market standing in the Gulf in terms of revenue, employee count, market share, or innovation. Additional consideration was given to leaders heading multinational corporations or publicly listed companies.

The list also highlights contributions such as launching new products, entering new markets, restructuring organizations, driving exceptional growth, or leading notable transformations (digital transformation, crisis management, unprecedented expansion, cultural change, etc.). These contributions were validated through awards, media coverage, official reports, or financial performance results.

The reputation of the leader and their international influence were also factored in. These include whether they represent their company or country on global platforms, are cited as knowledge sources, or serve on regional or international boards.

Sources of information

The editorial team at Manhom primarily relied on the platform’s proprietary data, supplemented by in-depth public research. This included direct interviews with the leaders themselves or their top management, as well as a variety of digital references and specialized networks like LinkedIn. Additional sources included media reports, articles, economic analyses, and data from official company or regulatory websites.

Important notes

  • The list is arranged alphabetically.
  • The list  may be expanded in future editions to include additional names from a broader range of sectors.
  • The list is not intended to rank leaders in terms of who is ‘best’, but rather to showcase the distinctive professional contributions of Lebanese talent in the Gulf.
