I hold a PhD in Sustainable Construction Materials within the field of Civil Engineering from Trinity College Dublin, with over 22 years of professional experience spanning various leadership roles and training positions.
My research in civil engineering sustainability focuses on developing environmentally friendly construction materials. I have published influential studies on utilizing industrial by-products, such as bauxite residue and red mud, as sustainable binders. Key works include research on the pozzolanic and hydraulic activity of bauxite for binder production and studies on the cementing capabilities of Saudi Arabian red mud, both contributing to reduced carbon emissions.
Additionally, I have explored the potential of low-calcium fly ash and alkali-activated materials, highlighting their environmental benefits over traditional binders. My research extends to service science management, where I’ve designed optimized transit solutions to improve public transportation efficiency as a sustainable alternative. This work has earned international recognition, with publications in renowned journals such as the Journal of Building Engineering and SN Applied Sciences and presentations at global conferences. My research portfolio represents a strong commitment to sustainable innovation in civil engineering, with practical applications that align with global carbon reduction goals.
