The Saudi Banks Media and Awareness Committee was established in 2006 under a directive from the Saudi Central Bank, with a core mission to enhance banking awareness among the public and to empower individuals with a deeper understanding of banking products and services.

The committee seeks to raise financial awareness among the public and enhance communication between banks and customers by providing clear information about banking services, building trust in the sector, and guiding individuals toward sound money management to build a more stable financial future.

The committee focuses on educating different segments and age groups in Saudi society about various banking activities, as well as raising awareness of emerging industry issues and local and global developments, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

The committee leads several key awareness initiatives, most notably the "Be Careful campaign", launched in collaboration with all Saudi banks to raise public awareness about banking fraud and the techniques used. It also runs the "Banking Awareness Program", a targeted initiative that enhances financial knowledge and decision-making skills among government employees and students, with a focus on fostering saving habits and responsible financial behavior.
