Sharbatly is an active investor in renewable energy and smart infrastructure sectors across the Middle East and North Africa. He began his career working with early-stage startups and later established a number of ventures across different sectors, including Six Days Maintenance and Cleaning Company and Icons Shared Energy, in addition to co-founding the Emerging Artists Association.

He later joined the family office, Al Nahla Group, and in 2018 became a Managing Partner at Desert Technologies through the acquisition of his company Icons Shared Energy. Within Desert Technologies, he advanced through senior leadership roles, including Chief Investment Officer, before being appointed Group Chief Executive Officer in 2023.

In this capacity, he has contributed to the development of the company’s business model and the expansion of its operations to more than 25 countries worldwide. His work has included overseeing partnerships, investments, and industrial localization initiatives. Under his leadership, Desert Technologies signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Genesis Energy Holding during the 27th Africa Energy Forum, focused on developing and deploying photovoltaic solar and energy storage systems in Sub-Saharan Africa to address electricity access for more than 600 million people.

Sharbatly is an active speaker on sustainability, renewable energy, entrepreneurship, and youth empowerment. He has participated as a speaker in more than 30 international conferences and forums, including events organized by the United Nations, the Conference of the Parties (COP), the B20 Summit, and the World Future Energy Summit.

He was ranked by Forbes Middle East among the “Sustainability Leaders 2025”.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Miami (2016) and has completed executive education programs at Harvard University, London Business School, and the United Nations.
