He has over 23 years of experience in the field of gastroenterology, including diseases of the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, colon, pancreas, and liver, as well as in interventional endoscopy, which includes upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), small enteroscopy, video capsule endoscopy, and esophageal motility measurement.
He is American Board Certified and graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Aleppo in 1987. He completed his residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in the United States.
