General information
Saudi National Bank, Saudi Arabia's oldest bank, was established in 1953. It has been listed on the Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) since 2014.
Originally known as the National Commercial Bank, the institution was formed through the merger of Saleh and Abdulaziz Kaki and Salem Bin Mahfouz Company. SNB was the first Saudi bank to issue an investment fund and has been at the forefront of offering a wide range of financial services, including credit cards, electronic banking, Islamic finance, and corporate banking.
The bank has numerous subsidiaries operating in various sectors, such as financial services, real estate, and international markets. Notable subsidiaries include Alahi Capital, Alahi Real Estate Investment Company, and Turkey-based Türkiye Finans Katılım Bankası.
In a significant development in 2021, SNB completed its merger with Samba Financial Group. This merger created one of the largest financial institutions in the Middle East and North Africa region, solidifying SNB's position as a leading banking player in Saudi Arabia.
