Chief Human Resources Officer at Saudi Arabian Mining Company “Maaden ” since May 2024, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

He has been an advisor and member of the Human Capital Advisory Board since June 2021.

He has over 25 years of experience in the fields of human resources and business, during which he held several executive positions for nearly 12 years.

Prior to joining Maaden, Assaf co-founded The Twenty Percent LLC, a startup specializing in training and leadership development, where he served as General Manager between 2023 and 2024.

He previously held several positions at Unilever, including:

• Head of Human Resources for North Africa, Middle East, Turkey, Russia, Ukraine and Belarus between 2018 and 2022.
• Vice President of Human Resources for the Middle East and North Africa region between 2011 and 2018.
• Vice President for Global Leadership Development from 2009 to 2011.
• HR Operations Manager at the HR CEO Office in the Netherlands between 2006 and 2009.
• Director of Human Resources in the Gulf and Head of Talent Acquisition for the company in the Middle East and Iran between 2005 and 2006.
• Director of Administrative Development for the company in the Middle East and Iran between 2003 and 2005.

He holds a dual BA in Finance and International Trade from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business, and several certificates from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
