Director General of the Statistics Center in Abu Dhabi and the Statistical Training Institute, United Arab Emirates. He is a member of many important councils and committees in the public and private sectors, including the “National Advisory Council” for the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, the “Demographics Committee for the Emirate of Abu Dhabi”, the Chairman of the Advisory Committee for the “Statistics Center - Abu Dhabi”, and the Chairman of the International Advisory Committee for the Centre, in addition to His membership in international organizations, including the “World Institute of Statistics” and the “International Association for Official Statistics.” During the past twenty-five years, he held the position of Executive Director in the Planning and Statistics Sector in the “Department of Economic Development” for 6 years, and Director of the Economic Division in the “Department of Planning” for 5 years. He also held the position of Chief Economic Researcher in the “Department of Planning” for 3 years. Previously, he worked in the private sector for 3 years, and as a coordinator in the “Abu Dhabi Strategic Development Program 2020”, in cooperation with the United Nations Development Program “UNDP” between 1996 and 1999. During the past eight years, he led the strategic plan at the “Abu Dhabi Statistics Center” by applying the best international practices to ensure the highest levels of quality in statistical services. He also succeeded in building strong partnerships at the local and international levels by signing many memorandums of understanding with statistical institutions. Pioneering, he led the “Electronic Statistics Project” by providing a smart platform for electronic data through statistical records that serve government agencies in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. This enabled the “Statistics Center - Abu Dhabi” to obtain many local and international awards, including the Center receiving for 3 consecutive years the “International Platinum Award” from “Ideas UK” for the “Creativity Program” for employee proposals, and the “International Excellence Award.” In the use of geographical information systems applications, and the “SAS Award for Excellence” in government agencies in the Middle East, the center was ranked among the best government agencies in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in applying distinguished institutional practices among 44 government agencies of the Abu Dhabi government in 2016, and among the most important practices Which were selected among 163 applied practices: “Abu Dhabi Smart Statistics”, “Short Course Workshops 2020”, “Knowledge Transfer”, and “Competition System”. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration from the United Arab Emirates University, and a Master’s in Business Administration from the European University in Geneva. He participated in specialized training programs and local and high-level conferences in the fields of leadership, administrative and technical statistical work.
