President of the University of Jordan since August 4, 2021, Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

He has been an Associate Professor of Pulmonary, Sleep and Critical Care Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine at the same university since January 2001.

He served as Minister of Health from October 12, 2020, to March 13, 2021, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Jordan from 2016 to 2018, Director of the Intensive Care Unit at the University of Jordan Hospital, and a senior consultant at the same hospital.

He was also the spokesperson for the Epidemic Committee at the Ministry of Health , and the media spokesperson for the coronavirus file at the same ministry in 2020.

He holds a Master's degree in Internal Medicine from the University of Jordan in 1994, a Bachelor's degree in Medicine from the University of Plovdiv in Bulgaria in 1985, a fellowship in Respiratory and Sleep Medicine from the University of Sydney in Australia in 2000, and the Jordanian Board in Respiratory Medicine in 2002.
