Gulf Cable and Electrical Industries was established in March 1975 and listed on the Boursa Kuwait in September 1984. The company specializes in the production of a wide range of electrical and telecommunication cables and wires of various sizes and types, as well as incandescent lamp wires, lamps of all types and sizes, transformers, switches, electrical distribution boards, and electrical equipment and tools for industrial and domestic purposes. Additionally, the company produces various types of aluminum foils, nylon packaging rolls, and copper rods.

Gulf Cable and Electrical Industries imports machinery, equipment, tools, and raw materials required for its manufacturing processes, and invests excess funds in investment portfolios. The company has several subsidiaries, including Care For Buildings & Cities Cleaning Contracting Company, Sofer Real Estate Company, Hawraa Regional General Trading and Contracting, Gulf Cable & Multi Industries Company, Gulf & Riyadh Electric Wires, Cables and Electronics Manufacturing Company.
