Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Central Bank of Egypt since November 27, 2023, Arab Republic of Egypt.

He has been the acting governor of the same bank since August 18, 2022, the founder and chairman of Panther Associates in Egypt since 2019, the chairman of United Media Services Company, a member of the board of directors of the Egyptian-European Association for Economic and Social Development, and the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) .

He held the position of CEO and Vice President at the Arab African International Bank , Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Union of Arab and French Banks in Hong Kong, and founded the “Loyalty to Egypt Foundation” where he held the position of Chairman of the Board of Trustees.

He was a member of the Board of Directors of: “Union of Arab and French Banks” in Paris, “Central Bank of Egypt”, “German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce”, “Emerging Markets Advisory Council”, “Orascom Construction Industries”, “Coca-Cola Bottling Company Egypt”, “Endeavor Egypt”, “Telecom Egypt”, and “Information Technology Industry Development Agency”.

He was a faculty member at the American University in Cairo , a member of the Strategic Advisory Board at the School of Business Administration at the same university, a founding member of the Egyptian National Competitiveness Council , a founding member and president of the Small Business Investors Association, and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Egyptian Banking Institute .

He started working in 1982 at the Arab African International Bank in Egypt, then moved in 1988 to the same bank’s branch in New York, where he was appointed in 1994 as Assistant General Manager, then General Manager in 1999, then Vice President of the Bank and Managing Director in 2000.

He completed his university studies at the American University in Cairo , where he obtained a Master’s degree in Business Administration in 1992, and a Bachelor’s degree in the same major in 1982.
