Omar Ghalawanji's Bio

Deputy Prime Minister and former Minister of Local Administration, Syrian Arab Republic. He served as Acting Prime Minister during 2012, Minister of Housing and Construction from 2009 to 2011, Director General of the “General Housing Corporation,” Vice President of the “Latakia City Council” between 1997 and 2000, and Director of the “Military Housing Corporation” between 1978 and 2000. He was a member of both the Advisory Committee of the Council of Arab Housing Ministers and the Board of Directors of the Arab Union Contracting Company. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering in 1978 from Tishreen University in Syria.
