A deceased Syrian businessman.

He held a number of positions, including:

• Chairman of the Board of Directors of " Bank of Syria and Overseas ".
• Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Damascus Securities Exchange
• Vice President of the International Chamber of Commerce in Syria "ICC".
• Chairman of the "Syrian-Lebanese Business Council"
• Chairman of the Management Committee of the Syrian European Business Centre (SEBC).
• President of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce .
• President of the Damascus Chamber of Commerce
• Member of the Board of Trustees of the Arab International University.
• Member of the Board of Governors at the Institute of Higher Studies in Damascus.
• Member of the Board of Governors at the Islamic University of the Nile.
• Lecturer at the Faculty of Economics at Damascus University , and the Faculty of Business Administration at the American University of Beirut .

Al-Shallah participated in the establishment of “ Al-Rakha Trading Company ” and the Syrian International Insurance Company “ Arope Syria ”.

He received several medals, including: the Sudanese Nile Medal, and the Legion of Honor, Knight rank, from Italy.

He holds a PhD in Finance and Business Administration from the University of California in the United States of America, and a Master’s degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom.
