Abdullah Humaidan Al Zaabi's Bio
Emirati businessman. Founding partner of “Al Tameer General Contracting Company” in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates.
Al Zaabi started working at a young age. After attending school, he would help his father and grandfather in farming. His connection to agriculture came early in his life, as his family owned farms that now include more than 2,500 palm trees. He would go to the camel pen almost daily with his grandfather, Saif bin Jabr Al Zaabi, which was the first step that qualified him to enter practical, professional and commercial life in the future.
After the development witnessed by the United Arab Emirates in all areas of life, with the dawn of the union and the emergence of oil, Abdullah Al Zaabi's father began working in the contracting sector, so he moved to help his father in this field. Later, his father established a shop for trading electrical and electronic devices in the city of Ras Al Khaimah, to be a source of livelihood and a new field of work alongside the small contracting company.
After graduating from university, he was immediately appointed to the Ministry of Education, and worked as a social worker at Ibn Dhaher School in the Nakheel area of Ras Al Khaimah.
In 1997, he opened his own contracting company, independent of his father’s company, and joined his younger brother Hamad in establishing “Al Taamir General Contracting Company”, which succeeded and gradually expanded, until it became an integrated group today. After establishing the company and its success, he decided to retire early from the “Ministry of Education”.
He spent his childhood in Al Zaab Island, or what is currently known as the Al Jazirah Al Hamra area in Ras Al Khaimah, in the old heritage village, and there he completed his primary and preparatory studies at "Khalid bin Al Waleed School", and later finished his secondary studies in 1981 at the old "Ras Al Khaimah Secondary School for Boys" in Ras Al Khaimah. He then joined the "United Arab Emirates University" in 1982 and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Sociology in 1986 as part of the sixth batch of university graduates.
