Chief Economist and Head of the Economic Research and Sustainable Development Sector at the Dubai Chamber since 2003, United Arab Emirates. He was a professor of economics at the University of Dubai between 2015 and 2016, and served as a senior advisor at the National Human Resources Development and Employment Authority “ Tanmia ” between 2001 and 2003, and director of research at the “EIM Business Policy” company between 1999 and 2000. He held several positions at Erasmus University Rotterdam in the Netherlands: lecturer in economics and senior advisor in international cooperation programs between 1989 and 1998, assistant researcher in the Department of Microeconomics at the Faculty of Economic Sciences between 1987 and 1988, and lecturer in microeconomics between 1986 and 1987. He holds several degrees from Erasmus University Rotterdam in the Netherlands: a doctorate in economics in 1995, a master’s degree in economic studies in 1990, and a bachelor’s degree in economics in 1987.
