She has been the Chair of the Influenza Pandemic Preparedness Framework Advisory Group at the World Health Organization since March 2024, and an Associate Professor at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences at the United Arab Emirates University since November 2023.

She served as Executive Vice President at the Global Institute for the Elimination of Infectious Diseases, a member of the Injury Prevention Advisory Group at the World Health Organization, Executive Director of the Communicable Diseases Sector at the Abu Dhabi Public Health Center , and Director of the Communicable Diseases Department at the same center.

She also served as the official spokesperson for the health sector in the UAE, and as the director of the Communicable Diseases Department at the Abu Dhabi Department of Health . She also worked as an assistant professor at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences at the United Arab Emirates University.

She has received several awards, including: the “Excellence in Teaching Award” from the United Arab Emirates University in 2014 and 2017, the “Hamdan Bin Rashid Educational Award for Outstanding Performance” in 2007, and the “Excellent Bravo Award for Outstanding Employee” from the Abu Dhabi Department of Health in 2009.

She holds a PhD in Public Health and Health Policy from Johns Hopkins University in the United Kingdom (2018), a Master of Public Health from the same university (2011), a Master of Strategic and Security Studies from the United Arab Emirates University (2019), a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the same university (2003), and a Diploma in Government Innovation Expert from the Mohammed bin Rashid Centre for Government Innovation (2017) and Cambridge University in the United Kingdom.
