He held several positions at Ajman University, including: Vice Chancellor for Academic and Administrative Affairs, Acting Chancellor, Advisor, and Dean of the College of Information, Media and Humanities.
He worked at the United Arab Emirates University, and held a number of positions, including: Vice Dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, Vice Dean of the same college, Dean of Student Affairs, and Head of the Guidance Unit. He also worked at First Gulf Bank.
He received a PhD in Applied Linguistics from the University of Salford in the United Kingdom in 1989, a Master's degree in Teaching English as a Second Language from the University of Southern California in 1984, and a Bachelor's degree in English from the United Arab Emirates University in 1981.
