Former Regional Director of the World Health Organization for the Eastern Mediterranean Region between 2016 and 2017, Arab Republic of Egypt.

He was an advisor to the Minister of Health in the United Arab Emirates between 1996 and 2017, and Assistant Undersecretary for Preventive Medicine and Health Policy Affairs at the Ministry of Health and Community Protection between 1995 and 2013.

He also served as a member of the Advisory Council of the Executive Office of the “Council of Health Ministers for the Gulf Cooperation Council States” between 1996 and 2005, the Executive Council of the “World Health Organization” between 1997 and 2000, and the “Health and Development Center” of the same organization in Japan.

He died on October 17, 2017.
