Sultan AlHamidi brings experience in retail banking, digital and smart banking services, business development, and issuing and acquiring activities. Throughout his career, he has contributed to the launch and development of a wide range of financial and non-financial services, while expanding savings and capability-building programs. He has also led initiatives that promote financial literacy, encourage self-employment, foster a culture of saving, and support the growth of small businesses and startups.
He joined the Social Development Bank (SDB) in 2019 as Executive Vice President of the Business Sector, a position he held for five years before being appointed Chief Executive Officer in 2024.
Prior to that, he held several leadership positions at Bank Aljazira, most recently serving as Deputy General Manager of Retail Products. He also served as Assistant General Manager and Head of Alternative Channels at Al Rajhi Bank, Project Manager at Saudi Telecom Company (STC), and Head of the Control Systems Department at the Saudi Electricity Company.
He holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from King Saud University (2004), and a Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (1997).
