Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at New York University Abu Dhabi , United Arab Emirates.

She is the principal supervisor of the Human Computational Intelligence Laboratory at the same university, and a founding partner of Gamet, a developer of artificial intelligence interfaces, since November 2016.

She worked as a research assistant at the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the United States between 2011 and 2019, an assistant teacher at the same institute between February and June 2015, and a research assistant at the Qatar Computing Research Institute during 2013.

I developed a program that relies on artificial intelligence techniques to predict general mood using audio and physiological data, which can analyze speech content, tone of voice, and body movement.

She was selected as one of the “ MIT Technology Review’s Top Arab AI Experts 2022” and received the “Innovators Under 35 Award” for 2018 from the “ MIT Technology Review Arabia Platform ”, and received the Prime Minister’s Medal for Best Graduate Student in 2019.

She holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science in 2019 from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the United States of America, a Master’s degree in the same specialization in 2014 from the same university, and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering in 2011 from the Petroleum Institute in the Emirates.
