QatarEnergy was established in Qatar in 1974. It is the entity responsible for Qatar's natural resources and is the world's largest exporter of liquefied natural gas.
Its main activities and those of its subsidiaries and joint ventures include: the exploration, production, and sale of crude oil, natural gas, natural gas liquids, refined petroleum products, petrochemicals, petroleum additives, chemical fertilizers, liquefied natural gas, iron, and aluminum.
Its subsidiaries include Qatar Petroleum for the Sale of Petroleum Products Company Limited (QPSPP).
It was previously called Qatar General Petroleum Corporation and Qatar Petroleum Company.
