General information
Ain Shams University was founded in 1950 under the name Ibrahim Pasha University and is the third oldest university in Egypt.
It is an educational, research, and service institution that strives for innovation and focuses on preparing qualified graduates with the knowledge and skills necessary to compete in the labor market and serve the community in accordance with modern developments.
The university comprises 21 colleges and institutes covering various disciplines, including medicine, pharmacy, engineering, computer science and information, arts, commerce, education, agriculture, media, and others.
The main campus is located in the Abbassia district of Cairo, and its headquarters are spread across several locations, such as Heliopolis and Shubra, in addition to the Girls' College campus.
The university is affiliated with a number of teaching hospitals, the most prominent of which is Ain Shams Specialized Hospital.
