Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the People's Republic of China since 2023.

He is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Abu Dhabi Vocational Education and Training Institute (ACTVET ), the Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Distinguished Academic Performance, and the Institute of Applied Technology . He is also the Chairman of the Higher Committee for Supervision of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Smart Learning Program, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Khalifa Education Award .

He held the position of Minister of Education between 2014 and 2022, and Director General of the Abu Dhabi Institute for Vocational Education and Training ( ACTVET ).

He served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Institute for Health Specialties , the National Qualifications Authority , Chairman of the National Commission for Education, Culture and Science, and the Higher Education Coordination Council. He was a member of the Emirates Competitiveness Council , a member of the Board of Trustees of Khalifa University , and a member of the Board of Directors of the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority.

He began his career with the UAE Armed Forces in 1984, and played a role in leading the development of technology and aviation capabilities in the country, where he was appointed Chairman and CEO of the Emirates Advanced Investment Corporation .

He received the “Best Arab Cultural Personality of the Year 2018” award from the “Union of Arab Creators”.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Engineering from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in the United States of America in 1989.
