Jassim Ali Al Shamsi's Bio

Chairman of the Fatwa and Sharia Supervisory Board at Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank , United Arab Emirates. He is the first Emirati scholar to specialize in Islamic Sharia. He is the Chairman of the “Islamic Sharia Authority” affiliated with the same bank, Chairman of the Sharia Supervision Board at the Arab Bank for Investment and Foreign Trade “the Bank” , and Vice Chairman of the Fatwa and Sharia Supervision Board at the “ Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank ”, and holds a membership in the Authority. The Supreme Sharia Authority in the “ Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates ”, and the Fatwa and Sharia Supervision Board in the “ Ajman Bank ”. He served as Dean of the College of Law at the United Arab Emirates University . He holds a doctorate in civil law in 1990 from Ain Shams University in Egypt.
