He is a director of both Istithmar World (PJSC) and Africa Crest Education Holdings Limited, based in the Dubai International Financial Centre in the United Arab Emirates. He served as Chairman of the Emirates Representatives Board in the Arab Air Carriers Organization, Director General of the Emirates Community Development Authority between 2009 and 2016, Managing Director of the Group, Board Member and CEO of Dubai Islamic Bank between 2007 and 2009, and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Istithmar International Company between 2006 and 2007. He joined Emirates Airlines in 1985 and held various positions there, including Vice President of Commercial Development between 1995 and 2006, Executive Director of Commercial Activities in the Gulf and Middle East between 1992 and 1995, and responsible for managing sales and marketing activities, and Director Marketing and Information Systems, and Assistant Director of Information Technology. He chaired the Board of Directors of Dubai Islamic Bank Pakistan, Dubai Investment Development Park Company, Bank of Khartoum, Burj Real Estate Development, Tamweel Company, Dubai Express Cargo Company and Emirates Airlines Hotels and Resorts. He was Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Jordan Dubai Islamic Bank, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Marriage Fund Foundation, Dubai Investment Park Company and Areej Insurance and Reinsurance Company in Bahrain. He holds an MBA in 1994 from Cranfield School of Management in the United Kingdom, and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering in 1985 from Florida Institute of Technology in the United States of America.
