He is also the chairman of the board of directors of Alliance Insurance Company since April 2018, the British University in Dubai, Rashid Center for People of Determination , and Emirates Airline Foundation , and chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy , in addition to being a board member of the Dubai Government Investment Corporation .

He began his career in the aviation sector in 1985 as head of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, which oversees the activities of Dubai International Airport and Dubai Airport Duty Free.

He was awarded the “Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Sash” in 2019, for his contributions over more than 30 years in strengthening the position of the UAE and the Emirate of Dubai in the civil aviation sector, and his role in making Dubai Airport the largest airport in the world and reaching the celebration of receiving one billion passengers.

He received numerous local and international awards, and was granted membership in the Royal Aeronautical Society in 1994 in recognition of his achievements. He also received an honorary doctorate in science from Cass Business School at City, University of London.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from the University of Denver in the United States of America.
