He is the chairman of Al Reef Mall, chairman of the board of directors of Dubai Shopping Malls Group, and BurJuman, and vice chairman of the board of directors of Taweelah Aluminium Extrusion Company TALEX.

He is a board member of Al Ghurair First Company, a subsidiary of Al Ghurair Group, a member of the Advisory Board of Harvard Business Review Arabia, and a member of the World Economic Forum, the Dubai Economic Council, and the Dubai Financial Support Fund.

He assumed the position of CEO of Al Ghurair Group, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dubai Chamber of Commerce, Drake & Scull International, SHUAA Capital, and Chairman of the Middle East Council of Shopping Centres.

He was a board member of National Cement Company, Nasdaq Dubai, Mashreq Bank, Investcorp Bank, Dubai Islamic Economy Development Centre, and Etihad Credit Bureau.

He received the Business Leader of the Year 2004 award in the United Arab Emirates from Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and the Trade Ambassador of the Year 2017 award from the Asian Business Leadership Forum.

He obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the United Arab Emirates University in 1989.
