He served as Chief Financial Officer and Executive Board Member of ING Bank in Germany between April 2019 and August 2023, Supervisory Board Member of ING Bank in Poland between 2017 and 2020, and Group Controller and Chief Financial Officer of ING Group in the Netherlands between November 2013 and April 2019.

He was a partner at KPMG Netherlands between 1991 and 2013, a director at KPMG Belgium between 1999 and 2001, and an auditor at KPMG Ukraine between 1995 and 1998.

He has an expertise in strategic financial engineering, mergers and acquisitions, financial operations, regulatory governance, risk management, capital management and corporate tax planning.

He holds a Master’s degree in Accounting from Nyrund Business University in the Netherlands in 2002, and a Certified Public Accountant certificate.
