Nakilat was established in 2004 in Qatar and has since become a global leader in the maritime transportation of liquefied natural gas (LNG). As a vital link in Qatar's LNG supply chain, Nakilat operates one of the world's largest fleets of LNG carriers, comprising 69 vessels.
Through its subsidiary, Nakilat Shipping Qatar Limited, the company manages and operates four very large gas carriers (VLGCs), 24 LNG carriers, and a floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU).
Nakilat also plays a significant role in the shipbuilding and repair industry. Through strategic joint ventures with Keppel Shipyard and Qatar Shipyards, the company operates the Erhama Bin Jaber Al Jalahma Shipyard in Ras Laffan Industrial City. This shipyard provides a range of shipbuilding and repair services.
Additionally, Nakilat offers maritime agency services through Nakilat Maritime Services and provides marine support, towage, and salvage services through Nakilat SvitzerWijsmuller, operating in Ras Laffan Port and Qatar's offshore areas.
