She has been an Associate Professor and Assistant Dean for Research and Outreach at the College of Technological Innovation , Zayed University , UAE, since September 2017.
She worked as an assistant professor at Khalifa University between 2010 and 2017, and as a faculty member at the University of Sharjah between 2001 and 2010.
She obtained a patent in the United States of America after she developed a program that helps in the early detection of diseases related to cerebral blood vessels, by means of a new algorithmic technology based on the use of Artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms for cerebral angiography.
Khalifa University also awarded her a PhD in Engineering, making her the first Emirati woman to obtain this degree in engineering from an Emirati university in the country. Her PhD thesis included a study on “Early Detection of Lung Cancer.”
She has received a number of awards for her research including the Outstanding PhD Research Award at Khalifa University Leadership Day, the Best Research Award at the International Conference on Information Technology in Abu Dhabi, and the Best Research Work and Best PhD Research Award at the 20th IEEE World Conference on Electronics, Circuits and Systems.
She was also honored in 2015 by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum , among 44 Emirati figures, in the second session of the Emirates Pioneers Initiative, as the first innovator of an electronic system that helps in the early detection of lung cancer.
Published more than 60 research papers in scientific journals and various international conferences.
She holds a PhD in Computer Engineering from Khalifa University in the United Arab Emirates in 2013, a Master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates, and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the same university.
