CEO of “ Commercial International Bank ” since September 16, 2024, Arab Republic of Egypt.

He was appointed a member of the Board of Directors of the same bank in November 2022.

He served as a non-executive Chairman of the Board of Directors at the Commercial International Bank between March 2023 and September 2024.

He held the position of Advisor to the Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt during 2022, Managing Partner at HE Consulting between 2021 and 2023, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Federation of Egyptian Banks between 2013 and 2020. He is the first Chairman of a private sector bank to hold this position. He also held the position of Chairman and Managing Director of the Commercial International Bank between 2002 and 2020, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Commercial International Bank Foundation, which he founded.

He also served as a member of the Regional Advisory Board of MasterCard Middle East and North Africa, the Emerging Markets Advisory Board of the Institute of International Finance, the Board of Trustees of the American University in Cairo , and was a member of the Board of Directors of Gulf Insurance Group, Fairfax Africa, GB Auto , Atlas Mar, and Ripple Wood.

He held the position of Managing Director of Deutsche Bank in the United Kingdom between 1997 and 1999, and of JP Morgan - London between 1990 and 1997, and was Assistant Vice President at Merrill Lynch in the United Kingdom between 1986 and 1989.

He received the “Best CEO Award” for 2019 from “Global Investor Middle East Magazine”, the “Excellence Award” in the field of financial services in the Middle East for 2016, and the “Best CEO Award in Egypt and Africa” for 2014 from “EMEA Finance”.

He holds a Bachelor's degree in Commerce from Cairo University .
