He is a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants.

He served as Executive Vice President of Finance and former Chief Financial Officer at the Saudi Arabian Mining Company “Ma’aden ”, Chief Financial Officer at the same company, Director of “Forbes Irvine Consulting” in London, and Chief Financial Officer at “Endeavor Mining Group” in London.

He also served as Chief Strategy and Business Development Officer at Anglo American, Chief Financial Officer at the same company, Chief Financial Officer at both Xstrata Cooper and BHP Billiton, and Treasurer at Billiton South Africa.

He has over 30 years of experience in financial management, strategy, marketing, mergers and acquisitions, and business development.

He obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree with honors, specializing in accounting and finance, in 1989 from the University of Johannesburg in South Africa.
