He has been Chairman of the Board of Directors of Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank - Egypt since 2019, Chairman of the Internal Audit Committee of the Abu Dhabi Investment Council , and a member of the Advisory Committee of the Supreme Petroleum Council.

He was a member of the Board of Directors of “Cosmo Oil Company” in Japan, and “Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank - Egypt” between 2018 and 2019 before chairing the bank’s Board of Directors. He also served as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of “ Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank ” between 2019 and 2020, and Minister of Energy between 2004. 2013, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates General Petroleum Corporation “Emarat”, Vice Chairman of the International Petroleum Investment Company “IPIC”, and Governor of the State at the Organization of the Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries “OPEC” between 1994 and 2002.

He held several positions at the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company “ADNOC”, namely: Director of Marketing and Refining Department between 1998 and 2004, Director of Personnel Affairs between 1992 and 1997, Marketing Director between 1990 and 1992, and Financial Director between 1989 and 1990. He also held the position of General Manager of the Petroleum Company. Abu Dhabi National Distribution” between 1997 and 1998, and Assistant General Manager of “Abu Dhabi Marine Operations Company” ADMA Operating” between 1988 and 1989, and an auditor in the same company.

He holds a Higher Diploma in Business Administration in 1976 from the University of Portsmouth in the United Kingdom. He also completed the Advanced Management Program in 1988 from Harvard Business School in the United States of America.
