He held the position of Chief Financial Officer at Naftogaz in Ukraine between 2020 and 2021, and held several positions at Shell, including: Vice President of Accounting and Reporting in the Netherlands between 2016 and 2019, Vice President of Investor Relations between 2013 and 2016, Head of Mergers, Acquisitions and Commercial Finance for the Exploration and Production sector between 2010 and 2013, Head of Corporate Mergers and Acquisitions in the Americas between 2008 and 2010, and Chief Financial Officer of the company in Russia between 2005 and 2008.

He has over 30 years of international experience in the energy sector.

He holds a PhD in Business Administration in 1991 from the University of Rotterdam in the Netherlands, and an MBA from the Rotterdam School of Management.
