She has been Chair of the Cancer Research Evaluation Committee of the World Health Organization's International Agency for Research on Cancer since 2018, a consultant colorectal surgeon at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre , a consultant at the Saudi Society of Colon and Rectal Surgery , and an Associate Professor of Colorectal Surgery at Alfaisal University .

She is also a member of the Advisory Board of the Gulf Center for Cancer Control and Prevention, Chair of the Organizing Committee of the Saudi International Colon and Rectal Diseases Forum, Honorary Visiting Consultant Surgeon at St. Mark's Hospital, Founder of the Saudi Female Surgeons Association since 2018, and Honorary Visiting Consultant Surgeon at St. Mark's Hospital in the United Kingdom.

She held several positions, including: Director of the General Surgery Residency Training Program at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center .

She is the first person from the Middle East to serve on the Scientific Research Evaluation Committee of the International Agency for Research on Cancer, and the first Saudi woman to serve on the agency's Colon Cancer Screening Standards Committee.

She was awarded the King Abdulaziz Medal, First Class.

She holds a fellowship in colorectal surgery from the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgery, the European Society of Colon and Rectal Surgery, the Arab and European Boards in Cancer Control, and the Saudi Board in General Surgery.
