General information
University of Sharjah was established in 1997.
It is a higher education institution, comprising 14 colleges and offering 127 programs in fields ranging from Sharia and law to health sciences, medicine, fine arts, design, engineering, and communication.
It also offers a wide range of degree programmes at the diploma, bachelor's, master's and doctoral levels, in addition to the Executive MBA programme.
The University of Sharjah aims to achieve several goals, including:
- Developing the necessary research infrastructure and expanding graduate programs to create more relevant specializations with world-class quality.
- Promoting excellence in teaching, providing advanced infrastructure, and improving learning across all academic programs, including extracurricular activities.
- Attracting talented students of various nationalities, as well as faculty and administrative staff, and creating an environment that encourages creativity, innovation, and the pursuit of knowledge.
- Enhancing students' growth and entrepreneurial preparation by supporting their personal, social, academic, and professional development to become future leaders in their businesses and professions.
- Forming strategic partnerships with the local community, including the public services sector, to meet the community's social and economic needs by conducting applied research tailored to specific audiences.
- Contributing to the social, cultural, scientific and economic progress of society by responding to its needs and actively participating in its activities.
