Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Masoud's Bio
Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Masoud Al Muhairbi is a late Emirati businessman. He served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of “Abdullah Al Masoud and Sons Group.” He died on February 24, 2019.
He also served as Chairman of the National Advisory Council.
The UAE bears witness to Al-Masoud’s national stance that emerged when Iraq invaded Kuwait. At a time when the region was tense, the UAE needed a large number of Nissan cars, for which the Al Masaood Group was an agent, and the demand exceeded 4,000 cars. Al Masaood did not have enough cars to meet the demand, so he started buying cars from various neighboring countries, in addition to buying cars heading to other countries if the ships carrying them were close to the Emirates. At a time when companies stopped accepting deferred payment due to war conditions, Al Masoud was supplying cars without even a purchase order guaranteeing him payment, and later he refused to have the government pay him their value.
This position was mentioned to him by Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan during the government summit (video below):
