He held the position of Head of Corporate Finance and Investment Banking Group at Mashreq Bank between December 2017 and October 2019.

He also held several positions at HSBC, including: Regional Head of Corporate Customer Coverage, Head of Commercial Banking in the UAE, and was responsible for managing and developing the strategic direction of corporate banking services in the Middle East, North Africa and Turkey region.

He has over 30 years of experience in the banking sector, during which he held several leadership roles in international and regional banks, including the position of Vice President of Corporate Banking at ABN AMRO Bank in the Netherlands between 2003 and 2007, Deputy Director of Credit and Marketing at Arab African International Bank between 1999 and 2003, Assistant Director of Corporate Banking in the Middle East and North Africa region at American Express between 1996 and 1999, in addition to his work in the Credit Management Department at Arab Bank between 1993 and 1996.

He was ranked among the “Most Powerful CEOs in the Middle East 2022” by Forbes Middle East .

He holds an MBA in 2010 from London Business School in the United Kingdom, and a BA in Economics and Political Science in 1992 from Cairo University .
