He was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Swiss Aviation Foundation during the first half of 2021, and held several positions in the German Lufthansa Group and its subsidiaries, including: Chief Human Resources Officer at Lufthansa Technik between 2015 and 2020, Senior Vice President of Human Resources at the Group between July 2014 and February 2015, and Senior Vice President of Human Resources at Lufthansa Airlines between 2011 and 2014.

He held several positions at Swiss International Air Lines, including: Managing Director of External Affairs, Alliances and Information Technology between 2010 and 2011, Executive Vice President of Human Resources and Information Technology between 2005 and 2009, Vice President of Shared Services for Human Resources between 2003 and 2004, and Director of Human Resources and Development between March 2003 and September 2003.

He worked as Head of People Development and Vice President of Human Resources at the Swiss Migros Group between 1994 and 1997, and as a programmer and developer at the group between 1984 and 1987, in addition to holding several positions in the IT, analytics and systems development sector at the group.

He holds an MBA in 2002 from the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland, and has completed a number of programs in the fields of management and leadership.
