Dubai Abulhoul's Bio
Emirati writer, photographer, artist and illustrator.
She has been a founder of the Fiker Institute since September 2021, a member of the Advisory Board for the Global Cooperation Barometer at the World Economic Forum since September 2024, and a member of the Forum's Global Future Council on Geopolitics since October 2023.
She has also been a member of the Advisory Board of the University of Birmingham Dubai since March 2025, and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Emirates Literature Foundation since November 2023.
She was a writer for Kalimat Group, a columnist for Al Bayan newspaper and Gulf Today, and worked as a diplomat for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation .
She was a member of the Emirates Youth Council and the Youth Advisory Council of the Salama bint Hamdan Al Nahyan Foundation , and represented youth in the Emirates Communication Program, launched by the same foundation.
She is considered the first Emirati novelist to write science fiction in English, and the youngest novelist to participate in the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature in 2012, where she presented her science fiction book "Galagolia."
She was selected as one of Forbes Middle East's "30 Under 30" list, was selected by the Dubai government in 2016 as one of the "100 Most Influential Emiratis," and was named the youngest speaker at TEDxDubai in 2009, speaking about her experiences and achievements at the age of 13.
She also won an appreciation award from the Gulf Film Festival as the youngest female filmmaker in 2008 for directing a short film titled "Ali and Mira," which follows the adventures of these two characters in the desert. The idea for the short film was inspired by reality, imagination, and the natural environment of the UAE. Despite its brevity, the film attracted the attention of many directors and creatives in the artistic community, because behind this simple material was a child no more than 11 years old.
She holds a Master's degree in Global Governance and Diplomacy from Oxford University in the United Kingdom (2018) and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from New York University Abu Dhabi (2017).
