He holds the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors of “Etihad Rail Company DB for Operation and Maintenance,” Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of “Etihad Rail Company” and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the same company, in addition to his membership in the Board of Directors of the “ Federal Transport Authority for Land and Maritime ,” and a member of the Preparatory Committee for the “Expo Exhibition.” He is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives Foundation and the Dubai Future Foundation .

He served as Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University, and assumed the leadership of the Roads and Transport Authority in November 2005. Before that, he worked in the Dubai Municipality and worked in many professional and administrative positions, until he assumed the position of Deputy Director General. Dubai Municipality. He also worked as President of the Emirates Society of Engineers between 2004 and 2010, and Vice Chairman of the Infrastructure and Environment Committee in the Executive Council of the Government of Dubai between 2005 and 2017, and was a member of the Board of Directors of Union National Bank.

He won the “Asian Business Leadership Forum Award” in 2017, and in September 2011, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum presented him with the “Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Sash” for his efforts and achievements in the “Roads and Transport Authority.” He also received the “Man of the Year Award.” In the category of Best Executive Director in the Middle East in 2009, and the “Middle East Forum Award for Tourism for People with Special Needs” in the same year.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering in 1983 from the University of Wisconsin in the United States of America. He also holds an honorary fellowship in 2010 from the Society of British Civil Engineers in the United Kingdom.
