He has been a member of the Board of Directors of SITA since June 2022, and of Transguard Group since September 2022, Chairman of the International Air Transport Association ’s Airline Financial Advisory Board, and a visiting lecturer at the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland.

He served as Senior Vice President, Financial Services at Emirates Group , Vice President, External Finance and Risk Management at Emirates Airlines between 2006 and 2008, and Head of Strategic Control at Berlin-Chemie AG between January 2005 and September 2006.

He was also Director of Corporate Audit at Thomas Cook Airlines between 2003 and 2004, Director of Corporate Control at the same entity between 2000 and 2003, and Head of Financial Activities at Star Alliance.

He held several positions at Lufthansa, including: Director of Corporate Control between July 1999 and November 2000, Director of Corporate Cost Management between 1997 and 1999, Regional Director of Finance, Human Resources and Administration in Canada between 1994 and 1997, and Director of Corporate Audit between May 1992 and October 1994. He has also been Director of Accounting and Human Resources for the company’s branch in Thailand and Vietnam between 1991 and 1992, and Director of International Accounting between 1988 and 1991.

He has 30 years of experience in Europe and the UAE in the fields of finance, financial reporting, insurance, treasury, financial planning, tax and global financial services.

He holds a postgraduate degree from the University of St. Gallen, and a certificate in international management from the European Institute of Business Administration (INSEAD).
