He has been a professor at the College of Pharmacy at King Saud University since July 2015.

He held several positions at King Saud University, including: Vice President for Planning and Development from 2015 to 2020, Dean of the College of Pharmacy from 2007 to 2015, Vice President for Academic Affairs from 2004 to 2007, Vice President for Administrative Affairs from 2001 to 2004, and a faculty member at the College of Pharmacy. He also served as Professor of Clinical Pharmacy at the Riyadh Colleges of Dentistry and Pharmacy from 2008 to 2020 and was a member of the editorial board of the International Journal of Hospital Pharmacy.

He has participated in a number of conferences and seminars in his field of specialization, both locally and internationally, and has published a number of research papers in his field in specialized peer-reviewed scientific journals.

He received the Fred Eckel Award for Excellence in Pharmacy Leadership from the United States of America.

He holds a PhD in Poison Control Sciences and Centers from the University of the Pacific in the United States in 1997, a Master's degree in Hospital Pharmacy from the University of North Carolina in the United States, a Resident Pharmacist Certificate from the University of North Carolina Hospital, and a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from King Saud University.
