King Abdullah University of Science and Technology

King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) was established in 2009.

It is a Saudi public university that contributes to the development of science and technology through distinguished and collaborative research and its integration into university education. It also stimulates innovation and the dissemination of scientific knowledge and its applications to achieve economic and social development in the Kingdom and the world, with a focus on strategic research of global importance.

The following programs are offered, distributed across three main academic departments responsible for educational activities and degree-granting programs: Biological and Environmental Sciences and Engineering, Computer, Electrical and Mathematical Sciences and Engineering, and Physical Sciences and Engineering. The university awards degrees in several disciplines, including: Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, Biological Sciences, Chemical and Biological Engineering, Chemical Sciences, Earth Sciences and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Sciences and Engineering, Marine Sciences and Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.

The university includes several research centers, including the Advanced Membranes and Porous Materials Center, the Catalysis Center, the Clean Combustion Center, the Computational Bioscience Center, the Supercomputing Center, the Red Sea Research Center, the Solar Energy Center, the Ali Al-Naimi Petroleum Research and Engineering Center, and the Visual Computing Center.

The university also includes an Analytical Chemistry Laboratory, a Biosciences Laboratory, a Coastal and Marine Resources Laboratory, a Main Laboratory for Glasshouses, a Main Laboratory for Nanofabrication, a Scientific Imaging Laboratory, and a Main Laboratory for Supercomputing.
