She has been the Chairwoman of the Executive Committee and Chairwoman of the Saudi-Swedish Business Council since September 2021. She is the first Saudi woman to chair a Saudi-foreign business council, and she is also the Chairwoman of the Saudi-Greek Business Council at the Federation of Saudi Chambers .

She is also the Vice Chairperson of the Board of Directors of “ Olayan Financing Company ” in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia since 1986, and is responsible for the business activities and investments of “ Olayan Group ” in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East region. She also holds the position of Chairperson of the Board of Directors of “ Saudi Awwal Bank ”, formerly known as the Saudi British Bank “SABB”, which merged with “ Al-Awwal Bank ” on June 16, 2019, and Vice Chairperson of the Board of Directors of “Healthy Water Bottling Company”.

She is a member of the Board of Directors of: “Coca-Cola Saudi Bottling Company”, “Rolls-Royce Group”, “Akbank” in Turkey, “Schlumberger”, “Allianz SA”, “McKinsey & Company”, “Bank of America Merrill Lynch”, and the marketing giant “WPP”, and a member of the Honorary Advisory Board of “ Effat University ” since 2006, and a member of the Board of Trustees of the “World Economic Forum” since September 2022, “ King Abdullah University of Science and Technology ”, and the “ Arab Thought Foundation ”, and a member of the Executive Committee of the “Arab Business Council”.

In 2004, she established the Olayan National Women’s Employment and Development Program (ONWORD) with the aim of increasing the number of female professionals in Saudi Arabia.

She held the position of CEO of Olayan Financing Company , and served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Maaden) between 2016 and 2020. She held the position of Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Olayan Saudi Holding Company, and worked as a financial assistant to the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Olayan Financing Company between 1983 and 1986, and a financial analyst at J.P. Morgan between 1979 and 1983. At the beginning of her career, she worked at Morgan Guaranty Bank in America between 1979 and 1981.

She was ranked first in the list of "Most Powerful Arab Women" issued by "Forbes Middle East" magazine for the year 2017, and her name was included in the "List of the Most Powerful Women in the World" according to "Forbes American Magazine" in 2014. "Cornell University" granted her the title of "Entrepreneur of the Year 2010", and the King of Sweden granted her the "Royal Order of the Polar Star, First Class" in 2010.

She holds an honorary Doctorate in Law in 2011 from Trinity College in the Republic of Ireland, an MBA in 1979 from Indiana University in the United States of America, and a Bachelor of Agriculture in 1977 from Cornell University in the same country.
