He is a member of the Board of Directors of both Al Ain Holding Group and Mubadala Investment Company .

He has more than 35 years of experience in the financial and banking sector, where he previously held several positions, including: Governor of the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates between 2020 and 2021, a member of the Board of Directors of the same bank, and CEO of First Abu Dhabi Bank between 2016 and 2020. Chairman of the Board of Directors of Capital Investments and Abu Dhabi Financial Group , Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the First Gulf Bank of Libya, and Director of First Abu Dhabi Bank.

He held the position of Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company “du” , and served as a member of the Board of Directors of “First Abu Dhabi Bank”, “Emirates Investment Authority”, “Abu Dhabi Securities Market”, “Sky News Arabia” channel, and a member of the Board of Trustees of Abu Dhabi University , and he also worked at Citibank.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Arizona in the United States of America.
