Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation , United Arab Emirates.

He is a member of the Supreme Petroleum Council and the Board of Trustees of the Institute of Applied Technology.

He served as the Director General of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company ADNOC, and as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Masdar Institute of Science and Technology, the Abu Dhabi Institute for Vocational Education and Training, and as a member of the Abu Dhabi Economic Development Council and the Abu Dhabi National Chemicals Company.

He received the Order of the Rising Sun in 2018 from the Emperor of Japan, and was ranked by Gulf Business magazine among the 100 Most Powerful Arab Personalities in 2013.
