He held the position of CEO and Managing Director of Saudi Hollandi Bank between May 2009 and December 2016, General Manager of Treasury at the same bank between November 2006 and April 2009, and Executive Director at ABN AMRO Bank in the Netherlands between 1997 and 2006.

He was a research scientist at Philips in the Netherlands from 1996 to 1997, and a research associate at both Utrecht University in the same country from 1993 to 1996, and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam from 1992 to 1993.

He has extensive experience in trade, corporate banking, treasury, risk management and leading strategic change processes.

He holds a PhD in Artificial Intelligence in 1996 from Utrecht University in the Netherlands, an MBA in Finance in 2001 from the School of Management at the University of Bradford in the United Kingdom, and a Master’s in Computer Science in 1992 from Radboud University Nijmegen in the Netherlands.
