He has been Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain National Gas Company since March 2022, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Petroleum Company ( BAPCO ) since October 2021, and a member of the Board of Directors of Tatweer Petroleum Company ( Tatweer ) since October 2021.

He held several positions at BP in the United Kingdom, including: Head of the Group CEO’s Office between March 2018 and December 2020, Regional President in the North Sea between 2016 and 2018, Vice President of Technical Functions and Global Operations between January 2014 and December 2015, Regional Vice President of Operations in Azerbaijan between 2009 and 2013, and Executive Assistant to the Group Vice President between 2001 and 2004.

He was a member of the Board of Directors of Oil & Gas UK from 2016 to 2018, the American Chamber of Commerce in Azerbaijan from 2010 to 2014, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the International School of Azerbaijan from September 2011 to January 2014. He was also Project Manager and Product Manager at Amoco Chemical in the US from 1989 to 1997, and Project Engineer at Amoco Canada Petroleum from 1982 to 1989.

He holds an MBA in International Finance from the European University in Belgium in 1992, and a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of New Brunswick in Canada in 1982.
